La Veranda is a new construction project comprising two 4-story buildings with 77 permanent supportive housing units in the historic neighborhood of Boyle Heights. Developed on Metro-owned surplus land, this initiative aims to provide affordable, transit-oriented housing while incorporating a range of amenities and fostering community engagement.  The project includes ground floor commercial space, parking garage, children’s play area, amphitheater, outdoor courtyards, a jogging path and garden for the residents, and access to high quality transit.

  • Mixed-use affordable transit-oriented development on Metro-owned surplus land in partnership with the Los Angeles County metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro)
  • Supported by City of Los Angeles Prop HHH funds and tax credits
  • Project Labor Agreement (PLA), Prevailing Wage and Section 3 requirements to ensure fair labor practices and support for low-income workers
