Location: Harbor City, CA
Homekey Harbor City is an affordable housing redevelopment in Harbor City. The project consists of repurposing a former Motel 6 into 49 studio and one-bedroom apartments, providing permanent supportive housing to individuals who have experienced homelessness. The project included renovations of a community room, office spaces, outdoor courtyard, fitness center, laundry facility, pet area, bicycle storage, and on-site parking.
- Complete overhaul of building systems including new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring throughout the building, as well as complete upgrade of the plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems
- Exterior upgrades including new paint, window retrofit, improved egress, and repaving of the parking area
- Energy efficient upgrades
- Funding sources included Homekey program, County of Los Angeles, California State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD)
